Professional club-fitting by pro-fittedgolfclubs.com

According to, “The Search for the Perfect Golf Club”, by Tom Wishon, on the order of three million people per year quit the game of golf. When surveyed as to why, the underlying reason is that the game is frustrating, too difficult. Most of them do not know it, but one of the main reasons it is too difficult is because they are playing with drivers that are un-hittable by an average golfer and their 3 and 4 irons that are made un-hittable at the factory, by design. For more detail on this find a copy of the book and review it.

Golf clubs are like shoes. If your shoes don't fit, your feet will hurt; if your golf clubs don't fit, your game will suffer.

At pro-fittedgolfclubs.com, we professionally fit and custom build clubs to match each golfer, whether they are a novice or an accomplished player.

Your personal fitting will be performed by Bill Kelly or Bob Dugan Professional Club-fitters at Tee Time in Carpiteria.

The fitting process is one of the most comprehensive available. Here's what's involved:

Golfer interview

What are your tendencies and perceptions of your game, your preferences and your playing goals? Your clubs will be fitted to your swing and your playing ability using specifications that also address your preferences and goals for improvement.

Evaluation of your current clubs

Your current clubs are measured. Specifications such as loft, lie, face angle, total weight, and length plus shaft stiffness, shaft weight, frequency, flat line oscillation, grip size and swing-weight for the driver and fairways are included as are similar measurements for irons.
At this point the club-fitter may have a fairly good idea of things to explore in the ball striking part of the fitting.
Putter Fitting
On average the putter is used just over 40% of the time on a normal round of golf. A fitting of your current putter is made to assure correct putter length, lie angle, loft, swing weight and grip size. Additionally head design that will enhance success based on your eye and your putting stroke may be explored.
Dynamic Fitting on the range
The next step in the process is to take the fitting to the range at Tee Time. Using a Zelocity launch monitor and video balls are hit with various test clubs to determine the specifications for the optimum driver, fairways, hybrids and iron set for the golfer.
We measure club swing speed, ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, and distances. Basically there is an optimum driver launch angle, spin rate, shaft length, flex, shaft weight club swing weight and/or MOI for each golfer. For irons, hybrids and fairways, head design, shaft length, weight, flex, shaft weight, swing weight and/or MOI also have specific values for best performance.
Recommendation for club specifications
Using the information obtained from the range hitting session, interview, measurements from the existing set and preferences and goals of the golfer, up to 15 club specifications are determined, built into test clubs and verified and tweaked in a follow-on range session.
This effort includes advice on adjusting your own clubs as well as recommendations for new clubs.
Expert advice on the options for clubs and set make-up
You will receive expert and unbiased advice on how to improve your equipment. An added benefit is that we can customise set make up. And customising set make-up is one of the most effective ways to improve your game
Time required
The fitting session takes two and a half hours.
If you have a physical discomfort or limitation, feel free to discuss your situation during the fitting process. From grip sizing, custom bending, custom club-lengths to vibration dampening….there are a host of custom options that can be used to provide equipment solutions for all levels of physical challenge.
To play your best and not become one of the three million golfers a year that drop out, you owe it to yourself to get equipment that fits you.
